Add-ons

Optional extras that plug into your venue: OmniDisplay Web Control puts your OmniDisplay poster boards on the dashboard, and Quiz runs a full live pub-quiz night — players on dialog HUDs, the MC on a one-button web console. Both pair to your XTech Server and are driven from the dashboard.

How add-ons work

An add-on is its own object — a board you rez at the venue, not a script inside the server. A few rules are shared by all of them:

Pairing. Rez the board at your venue with the same account that owns your XTech Server. It finds your server(s) and asks you to confirm which venue it belongs to — even if there's only one, so a broken server is never silently assumed. Re-pairing is free: touch-driven, and it survives copying, taking and re-rezzing.
The server does the talking. Boards never contact the web themselves — everything routes through your venue server. Keep the server rezzed, and the add-ons follow it.
Licensed per venue. Each add-on is a one-time, per-venue licence — no subscription. Once your venue holds one, an Add-ons section appears in the dashboard sidebar with its pages.
Who can drive them. The venue owner and venue admins always can. For anyone else, the owner flips a per-person feature switch on Manage Access — e.g. grant a trusted host Display boards or Quizzes without making them a manager. A feature grant only works while the person is still staff at the venue.

OmniDisplay Web Control

OmniDisplay — the poster system itself — is a standalone product that runs entirely in-world, and its own page covers rezzing, pairing Screens and transitions. This add-on puts it on your dashboard:

Drop the Web Control script into your OmniDisplay Store. Remove it again and the Store is pure offline, exactly as before.
Pair the board to your venue. The script finds your XTech Server(s) and asks you to confirm which venue this board belongs to.
Open the Displays page. With the add-on licensed, each board appears with thumbnails of everything in it.

What the Displays page does

Show now — put any texture up immediately, for a set number of minutes, then the board resumes its rotation by itself. Paste a UUID or pick from your Media Library. Perfect for tonight's event flyer or the working DJ's poster.
Sequence — build the exact playlist: pick from the board's textures and the library, order them, save & play. Reset to auto hands control back to whatever is physically in the Store.
Clear — stop a temporary image early and resume normal playback.

Nothing to upload: the web side works with texture UUIDs, so showing something from the dashboard never costs upload fees — and staff can still walk up and drop textures into the Store the old way.

Quiz — live pub-quiz nights

A complete quiz night: a Quiz Board at the venue, answer HUDs for the players, and two dashboard pages — one to build quizzes, one to run them. One Quiz Board per venue.

What a quiz night looks like

The MC starts the quiz from the web console. The Board announces it in local chat and invites everyone to touch it.
Players touch the Board and get an answer HUD to wear. Joining and rejoining works mid-quiz — a crash-and-relog catches right up.
Each question pops up on the HUD — buttons for multiple-choice, a text box for free answers. Players can change their answer until the MC closes the question; only the last one counts.
Picture and audio rounds just work. Pictures show on the HUD (with a zoom view) and on the Board; audio clips play privately to each player — no blasting over the venue stream, and the MC can replay the clip.
The Board keeps the room in the loop — round banners, "answers in!", a live leaderboard on its screen, and the winners' podium at the end.

Building a quiz — the Quizzes page

Rounds of questions — multiple-choice or free-text, points per question, with an optional picture or sound on any question. Solo scoring or teams.
Build from the question bank — a wizard over thousands of ready-made trivia questions (from the community-maintained OpenTDB and OpenTriviaQA banks, CC BY-SA): pick categories and difficulties per round, or Quick-fill a whole quiz and trim it.
Media rounds — auto-build a "name this" picture or audio round from a Media Library pack (flags, bird calls, anthems…).
Answer-key access — per quiz, choose who may author, judge and see the answers. Keep players out of the editor and they can still play fair.

Running it — the Quiz MC console

Built for a DJ running the night solo: glance, click, back to the decks. The console shows where you are and one big button for whatever comes next — open the question, close answers, judge, next question, end. Around it:

Judging inline — free-text answers appear the moment a question closes; mark them right or wrong and the scores update. Re-judge an earlier question any time.
Reveal answer — announce the correct answer to the room and on every player's HUD.
Live leaderboard, player count, and a "live on board ✓" check so you know the room is seeing what you're seeing.
Recap — after the night, a read-only review of every question and every answer.

No laptop handy? An MC touching the Board in-world gets a menu with the essentials — next question, close answers, end quiz — so the night can run entirely from the floor.

Between quizzes

The Quiz Board ships display-ready: pair it to your OmniDisplay Store and it joins the poster rotation as just another screen while no quiz is running, then hands itself back to the quiz when one starts.

Troubleshooting

Board won't pair	The board and the XTech Server must have the same owner, and the server must be up and finished with its own setup. Touch the board to rescan.
"This venue doesn't have the add-on"	The dashboard page is licence-gated per venue. The board itself will pair and (for OmniDisplay) keep working offline — only web control needs the licence.
A staffer can't see the page	They need the matching feature switch on Manage Access — or a venue-admin role. Feature grants stop working when someone leaves the staff.
Board seems stuck mid-quiz	The Board re-syncs itself against the web on a heartbeat, so a missed command heals within a minute. Stubborn case: touch it as the MC and pick Sync.
